COVID-19

The health and mental wellbeing of our residents in our home is our top priority and we are making sure that we remain as safe as possible from any risk of infections, especially COVID-19. To help us keep Beaumont Manor safe, we continue to follow guidance and legislation as issued by the Government and key sector bodies and we are committed to keeping our residents, their families, and our staff well-informed at all times.

We have implemented and created new policies and procedures that provide reassurance for all residents and visitors to the home.

Prioritising Our Residents Health, Safety & Wellbeing

It is important to us that everyone in our home is safe and to ensure this, all of our team members follow the infection prevention and control measures that we have created to protect Beaumont Manor.

It is important that we continue to keep our home safe and we continue to do this by keeping up to date and with official advice and guidance provided by the Government, Department of Health, and the local NHS Trust.

To help us even further, we always suggest to our residents and our team members to keep up to date with all of their vaccinations and boosters to help reduce as much risk as possible. If there are any outbreaks in Beaumont Manor, we have a system in place so we can take the appropriate action.

Keeping Residents Connected

We know how important it is for someone’s physical and mental health that they stay connected with the people they love and after COVID-19 it is as important as ever. We are able to support our residents by helping them go on trips for the day or overnight by implementing a risk assessment which includes the use of respiratory screening questions on their return.

Currently, there are no requirements for our residents to isolate after temporary leave. However, we do suggest that our residents and employees keep up-to-date with their vaccinations.

If we have to restrict visitation at Beaumont Manor, we have several online devices to make sure our residents can stay connected with their friends and family. We know first-hand how much human interaction can help so we always make sure our residents can socialise, even if that is by partaking in some of the activities that we organise.

COVID-19 FAQs

We understand the importance of COVID-19 and keeping our residents, their families, and our staff safe. At Beaumont Manor Care Home, we are always happy to assist and answer any questions or concerns you may have. Here are some of our FAQs regarding COVID-19.

Whilst being vaccinated is no longer mandatory we strongly recommend that all residents, their visitors, and team members at Beaumont Manor Care Home are fully COVID-19 vaccinated, including future boosters, unless medically exempt. To reduce the risk of infection to others we will continue to encourage our team members to have all their vaccinations.

When transferring from the community or another care home a person does not need to isolate if the circumstances at the care home / interim care facility from which the person has transferred are known.

If the resident is symptomatic or has been in close contact with someone who has COVID-19, then they should isolate and perform two LFT tests on day (0), and again on day (2). Isolation can end following two negative tests.

If the resident tests positive in the home, they must be isolated for 5 days. The resident can then return to their normal activities if they feel well and do not have a high temperature (without the use of medication paracetamol).

Residents who test positive should avoid contact with other people who are eligible for COVID-19 treatments for 10 days after a positive test. Residents unable to take the test should isolate for 5 days.

During an outbreak, there may be risk assessments carried out to include but not limited to the control of visiting arrangements, admissions to the home, and the use of communal areas for a period of time.

We work closely with local and national agencies in accordance with local agreements and guidance. For more information please contact our Home Manager directly.
